Guidance for Leaders’ and Managers‘ Spiritual Paths
The Light for Organizations ministry offers spiritual coaching for leaders and managers in businesses and nonprofit organizations.
Spiritual coaching helps leaders and managers draw upon their faith in ways that improve their effectiveness in the workplace. Through prayerfully attending and responding to God’s guidance in the midst of challenges, participants will improve how they communicate, build relationships, facilitate interactions, and produce results.
After an introductory meeting, hourly sessions will be held biweekly or monthly at the participant’s workplace. The purpose of the introductory meeting is to define expectations, clarify roles, and discuss the relationships among faith, work, and professional aspirations.
Spiritual coaching helps people develop their leadership and management skills.
- Leaders inspire, motivate and guide. Spiritual leaders gain a strong conviction that their organization’s core purposes will be fulfilled and gain the ability to achieve those purposes in ways that support leaders’ and members’ health and well-being.
- Managers budget, hire, and supervise. Spiritual managers perform these duties with patience, kindness, generosity, and self-control.
Results: Research demonstrates that spiritual leadership is associated with increased productivity, sales growth, ethical behavior, and social responsibility. Similarly, more spiritually mature managers cultivate job satisfaction, engagement, and positive work behaviors among staff members.
